Engaging the interest and passion of young people in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) is the goal of educators, researchers, and policymakers attending the eighth annual ITEST Summit, March 3–4, 2011 at the Westin Arlington Gateway in Arlington, Virginia.
High school programs offer students real world experiences in fields such as law enforcement or video production, helping them explore possible careers.
EDC has been awarded $10 million over four years to offer basic education and technical training skills to at-risk youth in Honduras.
Community college students must build their IT skills to be
competitive in the workforce, and EDC has developed resources to help
ensure that they are proficient when they graduate.
Facing a shortage in skilled labor, the Turkish Cypriot community turns to EDC to help improve vocation and technical education.
High school students are learning some of the critical thinking and mathematics skills they need to make sensible financial decisions.
